An exclusive peek at Canada Blooms the Toronto Flower & Garden Festival
March 12 – 16, 2008

Never have flowers and gardens had so much power to enchant and enrapture than at this year’s Canada Blooms. Top landscapers have been busy interpreting the show’s Flower Power theme, designing 30 feature gardens full of green ideas, psychedelic blasts from the past and über-modern concepts for outdoor living. Show horticulturist Charlie Dobbin is excited about the many ideas for backyard entertaining and the nature-friendly living walls and green roofs included in many of the designs. For condo-dwellers and city gardeners, the popular balcony and terrace gardens will showcase chic, innovative solutions to help you grow green with style.

At Canada Blooms 2008, your shopping experience will be more exciting than ever. Don’t miss the new themed areas in the Marketplace: the crafts of Artisan Alley; Living Green, with its focus on lifestyle, food and travel; the Little Buds kid’s area; the Green Corner, featuring eco-friendly products.

Gardening celebrity Denis Flanagan notes the most popular spot for holiday plants is close to the front door, but this is often the worst location because of cold draughts. Instead, he advises to put plants such as poinsettias somewhere a little cozier. And here’s a tip for last minute shoppers: treat the gardener on your list to tickets to Canada Blooms, March 12 to 16, 2008, on sale now at canadablooms.com.
