Canada Blooms Garden 2013Magic In the Garden. The D.A Gracey garden "celebrates how The Magic of Teamwork combines four different garden styles to create one grand garden.  The remarkable employees of the company show off their diversity in garden design by incorporating: Oriental, Formal, Contemporary and Naturalistic design themes.
D.A. GraceyD.A. Gracey has decided to use Canada Blooms to showcase the remarkable talent and creativity of the individuals who make the company what it is today – its employees. Adam Gracey conceptually designed the 1,590 sq. ft. garden by dividing the area into 4 individual gardens. Under the supervision of Adam, each garden will be designed, planned and installed by an individual foreman.
The design, planning and installation processes of creating ‘Magic in the Garden” will develop not only an enormous amount of teamwork, passion and creativity in our staff, but also create a sense of pride in each foreman with their individual garden.  It is apparent that all of the talented and passionate staff of D.A Gracey & Associates Ltd. is focused on creating ‘Magic in the Garden’ at Canada Blooms 2013."

2012 International Competition

One of the highlights of the Toronto Flower show is the international class which brings ten talented amateur designers from around the world to compete. These individuals represent their country of origin and are chosen for their advanced skills.  Most have won awards at home and internationally.  They bring with them the newest styles and techniques in floral design, as does our Garden Club of TorontoCanadian delegate.  There has always been a rich diversity of countries represented – Pakistan, Kenya, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Italy, Barbados, Bermuda, and of course, Canada – all members of the World Association of Flower Arrangers. It is our rich international interchange that allows our designers to constantly evolve in the international theatre.
On Monday March 19th starting at 3:00 PM on the Unilock Celebrity Stage sponsored by HGTV you can view the talents of the 2013 International competitors.

Canada Blooms Professional Florists 2011Valentine's Day is just around the corner.
On the occasion of Valentine's Day the flower most people what comes to mind is the beautiful red rose. The very word rose evokes images of love and romance. Mark Cullen of the Toronto Star tells us "One of the biggest trends in recent years has been coloured rose bouquets that suit your sweetheart’s taste and personality, rather than simply settling for the staple red-rose bouquet." Coloured roses offer the classic romantic element of a Valentine’s Day gift with a personal touch. “If your sweetheart’s favourite colour is pink, why would you give her red roses?” says Cullen, “the different colours of roses can appeal to personal tastes, yet they also have meaning which men can use to their advantage.”
The following characteristics are attributed to the following coloured roses:
Red: Love, Beauty, Passion, and Respect
White: Purity, Innocence, Reverence, Humility, Youthfulness, and Heavenly
Pink: Appreciation, Grace, Perfect Happiness, Admiration, and Gentleness
Yellow: Joy, Gladness, Friendship, and Delight
Orange: Desire and Enthusiasm

There are also a number of other wonderful choices of flowers, arrangements and plants that might work for you as well. If you are looking for a florist why not visit the Canada Blooms' Florist page on our website. Not only will you see who will be creating this year's imaginative floral showcase, but you can also find a reliable and innovative florist to create that special arrangement for your special someone.
