Trees, shrubs, evergreens, roses and even large perennials grown in containers can be planted at any time of the day and in virtually any weather, as long as you remember that:
1. no plant will perform well if you allow it to sit in the sun to dry out before planting. 2. All plants benefit from a well-prepared planting hole. If you cannot plant for a few days or more after taking delivery of nursery stock, it is best stored on the shady side of your home and hand-watered as the top two centimeters of soil become dry. Windy weather will necessitate more frequent watering. Different plants will have different
watering needs, socheck the tags. Mark, the author of the bestseller
The Canadian Garden Primer, An Organic Approach, will
be on the Green for Life Celebrity Stage Wed-Sat, also join Mark
and Daughter Heather on Friday, March 18. Visit Mark’s website: www.markcullen.com or follow his blog: markcullen.blogspot.com.

At the 2011 Canada Blooms' competitive flower show, Blooming Art, the floral designs are all original works of art. The Garden Hall will be transformed into an art gallery with a magnificent show of both traditional, modern and contemporary art and sculpture. The competition will include framed works of floral art with retrospective interpretations of Art Deco and Art Nouveau style, table designs recreating a luncheon in an impressionist’s garden, large sculptural designs and so much more! Blooming Art – an exhibition of floral art at its best - don't miss it!!
